19d lateClean dryer venthigh · 19 days overdue · Home maintenanceMark confirmed 2026-10-18: one evening this week. Booked Mon 19 Oct 19:30-20:00 on The Baxters. Chosen to keep Tuesday clear for interview prep and to protect sleep before Wednesday.opendone
13d lateOutdoor Winter Prep13 days overdue · Home maintenanceIn the Fall putting away patio furniture and getting back and front patio ready for winter season. Clean Gutters as well.
Moved off Oct 31 to spread the late-October load; weather-dependent, so treat the date as "before first snow".opendone
6d lateSeasonal Tires Change (Winter/Summer)6 days overdue · AutoEach season
Cadence: switch to summer tires April 1, switch to winter tires November 1. Not a strict 6-month interval, so this is Seasonal rather than Semi-annual.opendone
13d lateSubscription audit13 days overdue · Finances & adminCancel what is not used
First pass together with Tiro. Part of the wider household finance project: monthly spend update and a quarterly household finance report, to be built out gradually.
Agreed 2026-10-01: Mark will provide a card or bank statement export for the first pass. Assistant parses the file locally with code and surfaces only the derived subscription candidates, so the raw statement does not need to pass through the conversation.opendone

TueVPS kernel update + reboot (CVE-2026-98432)high · due Nov 10 · Finances & adminHostinger VPS srv2018632 (177.7.62.158). Host kernel 6.8.0-147-generic (Ubuntu 24.04 noble), checked 2026-11-07 from inside the Hermes container. CVE-2026-98432 is a remote IPv4 TCP use-after-free, CVSS 9.8. Ubuntu tracker 2026-11-07: noble fix exists only in -proposed (6.8.0-149.149), nothing in -updates yet. Hostinger blocks the exploit traffic at the platform edge for every VPS, so there is no rush and no patch possible from inside the container (no kernel of its own). When the fixed kernel reaches -updates, run on the HOST as root: apt update && apt full-upgrade, then reboot. Reboot takes the Hermes container and the webapp relay with it; restart /opt/data/bin/webapp-relay.py afterwards. Full runbook: /opt/data/private/vps-kernel-update-runbook.md
2026-11-07 evening, still blocked: re-checked, tracker reads "work in progress in 6.8.0-149.149". Mark asked to do the update tonight; doing it now would mean downtime with no fix to apply, then the same downtime again once the kernel lands. Holding. Due date is the re-check point, not a deadline. Watcher job a26202718a3e (daily 07:50) wakes us the day the status changes.opendone

Oct 16 '27Replace HVAC filtersdue Oct 16 '27 · Home maintenanceSize confirmed 2026-10-13 from the label on the cabinet: Aprilaire whole-house media air cleaner, model family 1410 / 1610 / 2410 / 2416 / 3410 (all five take the same filter). Part is a nominal 16 x 25 x 4 media filter, actual about 16.5 x 29.4 x 4. Options: 410 (MERV 11, OEM default), 413 (MERV 13, better for the dog and dust), 413CBN (MERV 13 + carbon, odours), 416 (MERV 16, overkill and most airflow resistance). Canadian sourcing 2026-10-13: PureFilters.ca 410 CA$48.99 / 413 CA$58.99 each, shipped from Canada; FurnaceFilters.ca 410 2-pack CA$85; Rise CA$99 each. Aprilaire 410 and 413 are being superseded by UK411 and UK413, same fit. Replace annually per Aprilaire, so buy two. NOTE: the 1-inch MERV 8 pack discussed earlier is the wrong part for this cabinet. Purchase needs Mark's approval. 2026-10-13: FIT CONFIRMED against the physical part - Mark read the filter currently installed and it is an Aprilaire 410, matching the label. Order staged at furnacefilters.ca: 2-pack CA$95 plus HST (about CA$107), free expedited Ontario shipping, in stock. Only remaining step is his payment. 2026-10-13: PURCHASED by Mark, no longer waiting on him. Aprilaire 413 MERV 13, 4-pack, CA$226.93 total (CA$56.73 per filter, about 4 years of filters), Amazon, arriving Fri Oct 16. Installation planned Fri Oct 16. Filament/fit: 413 is listed on the cabinet label as an approved option and fits all five models on it, same 16x25x4 envelope as the 410 he removed. Note the 413 is MERV 13, a step up from the 410's MERV 11, so slightly more airflow resistance but Aprilaire approves it for this cabinet. Next change due about Oct 2027, then annually. Replaced 2026-10-16 with the Aprilaire 413 (MERV 13). Filter arrived from Amazon 16 Oct, 4-pack CA$226.93, so three spares remain; the box covers 2026-2029 and the next purchase is due around late 2029. Annual calendar reminder sits on The Baxters, 16 Oct 2027 onward ([Joint] Replace HVAC filter).opendone
