Host kernel 6.8.0-147-generic (Ubuntu 24.04 noble), checked 2026-11-07 from inside the Hermes container. CVE-2026-98432 is a remote IPv4 TCP use-after-free, CVSS 9.8. Ubuntu tracker 2026-11-07: noble fix exists only in -proposed (6.8.0-149.149), nothing in -updates yet. Hostinger blocks the exploit traffic at the platform edge for every VPS, so there is no rush and no patch possible from inside the container (no kernel of its own). When the fixed kernel reaches -updates, run on the HOST as root: apt update && apt full-upgrade, then reboot. Reboot takes the Hermes container and the webapp relay with it; restart /opt/data/bin/webapp-relay.py afterwards. Full runbook: /opt/data/private/vps-kernel-update-runbook.md
